Head StartHead Start - Head Start is a free preschool program for children that are 3 or 4 years old by September 30th.  Every child receives a variety of learning experiences that foster intellectual, social, and emotional growth. Parent engagement and participation is an essential part of this program.  All centers are licensed by the Ohio Deptartment of Job & Family Services. There is also a home-based option for qualifying 3 or 4-year-old children. This option includes weekly home visits, and bi-weekly socializations with other families and children, which are designed to enchance the child's development.

Step Up To QualityStep Up To Quality is Ohio's Five-tiered quality rating and improvement system for licensed learning and development programs. Step Up To Qualtiy recognizes learning and development programs that exceed licensing health and safety standards. Supports and incentives are available to assist programs in achieving and maintaining a Star Rating. All 8 Adams-Brown Head Start centers have achieved a 5 star rating, the highest rating you can earn.


Early Head StartEarly Head Start – This home-based program serves qualifying pregnant women, or families with a child aged birth-36 months. Weekly home visits, and bi-weekly socializations with other families and children, are designed to enhance the child's development.

  • Information for pregnant women on fetal development, stages of pregnancy & labor, and delivery preparation
  • Free car seats and information provided by our staff of trained child passenger safety technicians
  • Free diapers for those enrolled in Early Head Start 


Adams-Brown Head Start and Early Head Start has implemented a School Readiness plan with the mission of increasing school readiness, social competence of young children, and strengthening parents in their role as primary nurturer and educator.

Early Intervention – A variety of family-centered services for expectant parents, newborns, infants, toddlers, and their families. High quality home visits provide support, information, and services to pregnant women and to families of children that are 0-36 months with disabilities. 


In accordance with Federal Civil rights law & US Dept of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations & policies, the USDA , its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA.

Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g. braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.), should contact the Agency (State or local) where they applied for benefits. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have speech disabilites may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at 800-877-8339. Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at: http://www.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
